Rivers and Ruins

Naden Valley and the neighbouring Cheesden Valley contain some of the best selections of old, water powered mills in the country. These serve as a reminder of the beginning of the industrial revolution, before the more powerful and reliable steam engines enabled much larger mills to be built on flatter land.
